WTF here is selling their used IMS Bearing on ebay?
#16
Nope. Still can't do it. I just can't fathom why someone would say "Oh ****! This IMSB stuff is crazy. I need to change mine out NOW!" and then go buy a used one to install...
It's like a joke from KC. It just doesn't make sense.

makes total sense to spend $300 + shipping for a used IMS bearing and then pay $1200 for installation and continue to worry about the bearing exploding.

or maybe the seller is the same schmuck from OT forum begging for money for his dog with the photo of his $45K 993 in the background

if you can believe i am shopping for a C4S now - located one that has me itching to buy - will know for sure in a couple weeks - i'm already looking to sell it :-)
this one i will keep for a while - forgetting the boat idea till a couple years down the road
i also said i would never sell my 59 356 sunroof - didn't quite keep my promise - like KCattorney says: "never say never" - is that a bond movie title?

If anyone's interested, I'll be willing to sell my replaced IMS bearing for 10% below whatever the Ebay guy receives.
I'll throw in a used condom and some Y2K protective software, just to sweeten the deal.

I just made an offer to him of $20 plus $7.95 shipping.
You are all huge pussies if you don't submit a higher offer.
Personally, I'd start at $20.01 and then post it here so that the next guy can submit an offer for $20.02 and so on.

Ya know -- suppose some enterprising cheap skate wanted to build a DIY squirter bearing lube jobber? This might not be a bad deal for the little flange part. I mean, get a new dual row bearing, pry the seals off, drill yur squirt hole, thread the outside and viola - squirter port by U-Make-It.
I'll give him $25 for it, and toss the bearing.
