Are you talking about the Gundo hack conversion? If so do a search under that name and you should get all info

Fortunately, when I bought my 996 it had the Gundo setup already. I'm talking about this:

Unless you're trying to save the weight, you might also consider exhaust dumps/cutouts...

Not to concerned with weight, just want a deeper sounding note. The Gundo setup sounds nice upon acceleration.

I've been trying to unload a pair of bypass pipes for a while:

Will sell for $75 plus shipping.

Anyone man enough??? (I am not.)

I had a local muffler shop do a Gundo hack on my mufflers a couple of months ago. These bypass pipes are definitely louder than the Gundo-hacked mufflers.

This is really tempting but I want to be able to carry on a conversation on the speakerphone at the same time. Possible?

October 2014 I'm making the two-hour drive to Summit Point for a track weekend. My wife is riding with me. Had the bypass pipes on at the time. As we're approaching our hotel in Winchester, VA, Susan decides to order a pizza for us to pick up. She Googles some pizza shop and calls to place the order. She can't carry on a conversation as long as I am trying to maintain speed on the highway. I could more-or-less converse with Susan in the car, but depending on throttle position, maybe with raised voices. She wasn't thrilled with the sound, but she made the whole ride without complaint. She didn't stop me 15 minutes into the trip and tell me to take her back home.

At the track various people said the car sounded great!

Dammit.

I commute from rural VA to DC and I'm on the highway long enough at 80mph that I often take client calls from in the car. Probably just too loud for that.

I used to have an E24 M6 with a Triflo on it and every day driving to DC I would come into the E Street tunnel and then shriek through it in second gear. It made every.single.commute bearable

I got quoted $400 to do the Fister mod from (3) local exhaust shops.... At that point, I have just decided to pull the trigger on used Aftermarket mufflers.

I wear earplugs on long trips. I don't have to, but it makes riding with the windows down nice.

I love them, and I have ones just like the ones Mark is trying to sell.

For $75 you can just put your mufflers back on if you hate them.

here's my vid with my external mic setup:

The mic is on the back glass near the rear wiper, hence you can hear lots of intake noises too.

The shop that did mine charged me $100 and did a nice job of it. Now, I took the cans out of the car and brought them to the shop, so I guess that helped keep the cost down.
