Default Very small coolant drops from ???

Hi Rennlist,

I was changing my oil a week ago and saw coolant leak around the bottom below the Oil Cooler tube in this access box.

It's not really dripping on the floor, but it is wet along the edges and coolant crystals have kept if from dripping.

Not sure what this is but it's circled in yellow. A few questions:
1. Does this have a gasket?
2. If not, should I use RTV for sealing?
3. If I take the 2 bolts out, is there a spring or whatever that will pop out making it difficult to reinstall?

I just wanted to be cautious before resealing it up. Thanks All!

It's just a simple cover...full of coolant behind. About 2 gal will GUSH out when you remove the cover. Just get part 99610101600, which has a built-in rubber gasket. Replace that and refill the coolant, bleed the system and you'll be fine. Don't forget to thoroughly clean the mating surface on the engine block.

Default Geniuses...

Thank you Ahsai. Do you guys all have part numbers memorized in your brains?

Anyhoo, I'm gonna try the gasket first instead of replacing the entire metal cap. With your part number search, I was able to locate the gasket number:

99610133650

Cheers!

That gasket is only for MkI cars (yours is MkII) so don't waste your time and money. You need a new cover.
