Default Deoxit saves

Thursday night while headed out to Thanksgiving dinner, my wife commented that her headlights were acting weird sometimes would not come of it all. Tonight I noticed they were not working. All fuses were OK and all other lights were working. I did a search of this for years ago, and found many comments about the headlight switch. I'm a 928 owner as well and sing the praises of Deoxit. Here again a few sprays into the front of the bare switch and around the back connections and bingo everything is fixed. Deoxit, don't own an old Porsche without a can! Sold at Radio Shack.

I am not going to be that person talking about your wife's "headlights" in public!

Were both headlights not working? I still have to figure out if there are separate contacts inside the switch for each headlights, plus my Canadian model had DRL mode which turns on the HID low beam as soon as the engine starts, regardless of headlight switch position. I suspect there is a separate relay or module which provides power to the headlights independent of the headlight switch.

I recently had a finicky airbag light that kept appearing and was traced to the passenger seat belt receptacle. I bought some DeOxIt due to recommendations by the 928 guys. So far so good as I haven't seen the light since!

It is amazing stuff. Also learned about it over on the 928 forum.

I sprayed that stuff on the seat switch on my 951, fixed it for good, the switches didn't work in one direction before, now they do.

I use Deoxit on auto and home electrical.
Red Deoxit to get the switch or contact working and follow with gold Deoxit to keep that item clean .

Deoxit works miracles in my experience -- much better than anything else. I prefer it in brush form for most uses because you can apply it very precisely and it's much more concentrated than the spray. Parts Express is having an amazing deal on it right now -- both the Cleaner and Gold in bottle form for $19.95. It's usually more than that for just a bottle of Gold: http://www.parts-express.com/caig-k-...k770004n50005c

The bottle with the applicator is nice, but it won't work for the headlight switch as it's a sealed unit - ask me how I know... In any case, De-Oxit just got my passenger side headlight working :-)

Thanks for pointing that out. The spray is the best (or only) option when contacts are difficult to reach directly, but the bottle is better (in most cases) when contacts are within reach. Deoxit isn't that easy to find in stores, but most Guitar Centers stock the Deoxit sprays.

Yeah, same old story. Buy a guitar, then get a Blue/Beige 996, then sell out Madison Square Garden.

I'm 2 / 3rds of the way there!!

Actually my son is the guitarist, I'm a part-time guitar customizer, luthier, soundman, roadie, groupie, and hotel room trasher.

I gave up the MSG dream/fantasy a looooong time ago...I do still play out quite a bit though. Also, own/operate(rarely) a nice little project studio, and of course own way too many guitars (I also do my own work on them)...
