The followup article in the June 2002 Road & Track with special guest test driver Brian Herta who arrived in his personal 1995 Viper.
Around noon the day before the test at Button Willow racetrack, located midway between LA & San Francisco, Porsche realized the West coast 2002 Turbo was still @ The Valley of Fire, Nevada photo shoot for 2003 Targa & C4S! At 2:00pm I set off in a new 2003 Targa with supple leather for The Valley of Fire, east of Vegas, to retrieve the Turbo since the GT2 was with Automobile mag for testing. This is when I commenced my comprehensive standard full leather vs supple leather "comfort" seat test. The comfort seats are softer & noticeably more comfortable for a long trip, this one took 12hrs round trip back to my house where I arrived @ 2am, slept for 2 hrs, then drove the Turbo up to ButtonWillow where I arrived at 7:45 after refilling the gas for the test.
