I was being facetious. I know full well that the M96 uses the internal chains for timing.

BMW which I mentioned, on the other hand, went through a period where the timing and accessories were driven off a belt that originally had a ridiculously long service interval and when the belt snapped it through your timing off which caused the pistons to strike your valves and result in a big mess.

The point being that AWDguy didn't spend a bunch of time/money/pain doing all this amazing work just to have to redo a bunch of it. While annoying and I'm sure incredibly frustrating, this is pretty minor all things considered.

You may want to check and replace your idler/tensioner pulleys.

I had the exact same thing happend on my BMW and my tensior pulley gave out allowing the belt to slip off and do the same kind of damage. It took out my radiator end tank, dented the hood from underneath, shattered my radiator shroud and belt got tangled all over the place.

I hate to see your baby sent away. Isn't there a pro in Ontario that can help you sort this out? Keltech seems to have experience with 4.0 conversions.

as of now, the car smokes on initial start up. has since the 1st week. smokes for about 3-5 seconds then goes away. slight hesitation at 3k rpm and this p0171.

I am told it could be broken rings, AOS, injectors...wtf knows until I drop the engine and throw more parts at it. durametric won't connect. communication error. torque works fine.

the car has been nothing but a headache and kicking years off my life in terms of stress. I shouldn't let a car do that to me but I am a car guy, I love them and it really bothers me when 1 in my fleet is down. I can't say I havent tried. but enough is enough. I gotta draw a line at some point.
