*sigh* It doesn't mean that the law is on the bad guy's side.

You're getting worked up because people are telling you it's not a good idea to trump up a bunch of bogus expenses to try to "stick it" to the seller. Exacting your revenge by trying to extract lots of money from the seller isn't any less crooked than getting a parts order that is damaged and missing items.

Consumer law is almost always "on the side" of the consumer. However, you've posted your goal to stick it to the seller to teach them a lesson. That's not how the legal system is supposed to function. Unless you feel that the seller has INTENTIONALLY defrauded you, work with the vendor to get satisfaction and, failing that, take them to court.

As a consumer, you teach lessons to sellers by taking your business elsewhere and letting them (and other people, by way of the BBB, Yelp, etc.) know why.

Yup.

As much as it pains me to say this, there are some really crooked attorneys out there who will take a losing case because they know they'll still get paid. I like to imagine that the vast majority of attorneys are just like Atticus Finch, but in reality...

I have known a few people over the years who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting a case they knew would probably end in an out-of-court settlement because they have the money and were willing to spend it to prove a point. Unless you're one of these folks who have money to burn just to be right, you need to find a way to make this tolerable and move on.

Look Bro, I think you should at least try harder to resolve this with the seller. I mean are they in total denial there is a problem or what? Like Imre posted earlier dude. There has to be more to this story, bruh.

This guy was either more than patient or just procrastinating himself over the course of a year. I really hope you're not serious on trying to resolve the issue harder with the seller which has been going on over the course of a year.

He bought a kit which should've been ready to go. He wasn't scavenging and putting together his own kit.

Perhaps write a letter to your state Attorney General?

any one here can recommend a lawyer in the LA area for a anti fraud law claims ?
Just to be 100% clear, is the place you're referring to Wicked Motor Works (on Sherman Way) or Wicked Motorsports (on Sepulveda)?

I'm kind of curious about the information that isn't included in this thread, like what steps have been taken to try to resolve the issue, any photos of the damage, any indication by Wicked that the lights were in the box.

The only "facts" presented so far are that OP didn't get headlights, the hood was damaged, and he wants to sue Wicked. A little more information would help folks provide OP with advice - unless OP doesn't want advice and is just venting...

That's what I'm wondering.

I live around the corner of Wicked Motorsports. But due to everything I've read online, I have never taken my car there (I do 95% of work myself anyways).

I always see GTRs and R8s in front.
But they seem to have many complaints online, and they never answer their phones or respond to my emails when I've had a question.

anyone who sits around for a year waiting for a simple upgrade kit to arrive isn't playing with a full deck - you need ***** when your dealing with a company that doesn't give a sh_t and doesn't produce.

phone calls don't do squat - if the story is true, bring all the damaged goods (with a certified letter from the auto body shop explaining headlights were missing)directly to their shop and raise hell - don't stop until they take care of you

I'm assuming you probably paid for this kit with a credit card when you ordered it? Another option would be to call your credit card company and tell them what happened. Many credit cards include buyer protection. They may be able to refund your money and go after the seller of the kit for you. I know the card I use advertises buyer protection. Just a thought.

Some CC has time limitation on the buyer protection or disputes.

Haven't heard back from OP which is a bit strange. I wonder if he treated his business transaction like this thread. I understand not everyone checks these things on a daily basis but if it was me asking for advice on a matter like this, I'd would be tuning in regularly.

My guess is some of y'all scared him away in traditional RL fashion and he maybe the type to get wounded easily and/or try to avoid confrontation hence maybe the reason why he's in this situation in the first place.

As usual I maybe talking out of my azz and I could be totally wrong but just offering my weak $.02 in RL fashion.
