So 300,000 USA miles. Very impressive and very reassuring for all 996 owners. I recall the recent story of the local Los Angeles man with a 1964 (daily driver) 356 just turning 1,000,000 miles...and that took about 50 years. He methodically rebuild the engine every 300,000 miles.
I looks like you could comfortable beat him in terms of years and maybe with only one engine rebuild. Thanks for the wonderful post.

It's not my car but found the video. It would be nice to know all the maintenance that went into it (IMS,AOS.O2 sensor,RMS,suspension). It still looks awesome. Does that mean there is hope for us.

There is hope.
I routinely look on ebay and sort cars by 'highest mileage first' option.
You see 150,00, 175,000 plus 996s all the time. And I have seen for sale at least 6 200,000 plus 996s on there. The highest one I saw for sale so far was 231,000 miles.
I did this before buying my 117k mile 99. Most have low miles because people don't drive them, not because they are unreliable.

Looks to me like he had warmed it up - came back - started the video and the car and off he goes again - the temp was creeping back up to the 80 mark - which means it was there or above anyway - he does not redline it either - 7,300 is redline - hardly goes by 6000.
