Arrow Mods to Repair Ratio...What's yours?

Seems like people are always talking about repairs lately. I figure this should be a fun post to see what everyone's mod/repair ratio is here.

I understand not everyone is into mods(Jirish, cough cough) so this may not be applicable to everyone. Also I realize some peeps are obsessive over PM(preventative maintenance) so all maintenance stuff should also be factored into the Repairs column.

For me, I've been fortunate not having to do much except enjoy it. My most downtime has been installing mods. So my ratio is around 80/20% thus far.

I have kept a log so far....I'm sure there are a few items, but here are most of them. I have spent a lot of money on mods....but I have to say my interior is very, very nice. Grey/black/leather/carbon fiber. This is how I would of wanted it from the factory.

That being said, my ratio is 16% maintenance to 84% mods.....sounds like a good place to be!

Oh God, someone please hack into KK's computer and find his chart on PM to Mods ratio. I don't have time at the moment, but I'm sure it would be interesting to see.

Mods: Stereo + amps & speakers, V1 hardwire, passenger seat airbag disable bar, de-pumpkined

Repairs (partial list from memory): 3 window regs, 4 chin spoilers, turn signal stalk replacement, steering wheel airbag carrier replacement, 2nd gear synchro (TBD), LR caliper rebuild (TBD), fuel filler tube replacement (somehow got bent and made fueling a b!tch), 2 RMSes, clutch (during the 2nd RMS), negative battery cable.

Not including maintenance I'm sure there is more than I can't recall off the top of my head, but that's definitely the major stuff which ain't too shabby for a car we have owned 15 years. Unreliable by ***!

They were definitely on the car....but there were two previous owners, and the last one was for one year.....there is a video of the car about 1.5 years before I bought it without the K&N, exhaust tips and I would guess the fister mod, that's why I say "probably".

You know better than that. That is the number one sin in modding.

I purposely never started a log. Kept the receipts so I could go back and see, but no thanks! Ignorance is bliss!

Cough cough...and I'm sure everyone went for the cheapest parts they could find...why buy top of the line when China will charge so much less. Cough cough.

Actually it sounds like you are all enjoying your cars. As a friend of mine advised me, do things to your own satisfaction and nothing less.

Not this guy primarily because my indy refuses to perform repairs unless parts are OEM.

I just did an accounting for another thread.

Spent $1700 since buying my car 7 months ago.

looks like I am 85% mods vs. repair / maint. so far.

Is that good or bad?

OEM only baby, even N spec tires for summer and winter. I do save $$ though as I can buy OEM from a Porsche dealer out of state at about 40% to 50% less than my local dealer. I figure they can already afford their classic car collection with out a subsidy from me and they are fine with installing the parts I provide.

As to ratio of mods to repairs - Alpine will love this - mods .00001 over 8 years on the C2 - smoked side markers and OEM SSK. mods 0% on the C4S.

I file my receipts but won't log them - life is too short to stress over money already spent.
