Could also be a problem with the EVAP system, especially if the car is hard to fill with gas and really is stubborn to start ofter a fill up.

Im having this hard start issue too, but its very intermittent. This has happened 3 times already after a short drive and the car sitting over an hour. The starter will spin maybe for about 20 seconds before it fires. Feels like not getting any fuel. Besides the CPS is there anything else to check for before i dig into it? Oh and no CEL or misfires

Twenty seconds of cranking is a long time! Mine fires in like two seconds of starter engagement. If the starter is engaged and the engine is cranking over, but not firing - CPS is suspect, and fuel pump, fuel filter.

I had this issue a year ago or so.
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-starting.html

Fuel Pressure Sensor for Fuel Tank 996-606-205-00 fixed the issue.

Thanks rb101
My car has less then 70k miles on it. I will look into fuel pump relay as its a lot cheaper and if it does't fix my problem then ill go after the Fuel Pressure Sensor. Hopefully it will be one of those two as its a lot easier to switch out then a CPS.

Just wondering if there's been a follow up to this
Thanks

996pp, you may want to check this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...er-1-hour.html

See if that OPs description matches yours.

I don't think that applies to this OPs issue though. There is no mention of misfires in that thread. This sounds more like a CPS or plug/coil issue to me.

Is it too late to put in another vote for CPS? If not, count me in!
