PSE Hack I believe it's called "Gundo"

I have an 03 996 and am looking to have the "Gundo" hack done rather than put in a new exhaust. What are people's opinions/experiences with this work? This is my daily to the tune of 12,000 miles per year, so I don't want crazy just an enhancement of the original Porsche howl we all love. Should I go 2 inch 3 4? How much have people paid to have it done?

This is also called the "Fister D" hack. Do a search for Gundo and Fister D on this site, and you will get lots of information! Worth doing. Good luck with it.

I'll say it again, do it, you'll love it. Not at all obnoxious sounding, but a huge improvement over stock.

Just do it!

You won't regret it.

I did the hack, and didn't look back!

3 or 4"? Are you serious?

Sounds like you maybe on the conservative side. You might be better to just stick to 1.5".

you will love it!!

Also you have two options. The PSE mod, also called Gundo hack which uses the plugged hole on a non-PSE muffler or you can do the partial muffler by-pass like Fister does. The bypass mod is of course a little louder than the PSE mod.

Did mine last month. At tick over it sounds normal, then when you start to pull away it seems to growl and snarl, then as the revs get higher its wonderful.

Here's a link to mine, but you need to turn the bass up a bit to make if sound like it does in real life.

The FisterD mod provides just enough growl at acceleration and snap when coming off throttle, but there is no drone at highway speed or around town. It's the best of both without being obnoxious. Well worth the investment!

My 997S 4.0 will have the Fisters paired with 200 cell cats and x51 headers underneath with a 82mm IPD competition plenum with a GT3 throttle body on the top side....can't wait for the car delivery in March!

Do it!! Just did mine fister style with 1.75 pipe between inlet and outlet...u could prob get away with 2 inch but any bigger might have clearance issue( from what I seen) sound is great

Did mine several months ago. Its basically perfect.. Best grin factor upgrade by far.

Not super impressed with Gundo...maybe should have gone Fister D?!

Gundo has minimal sound increase. Fister style is much better in most opinions.
