Yeah, and "just a few years ago you couldn't give them away for $10,000". Wow, I guess I missed that period of the 993's depreciation curve.

I wouldn't say every model is increasing, Some models are increasing.

The author is not that far off. He didn't say 993. Higher mileage, early 80s SCs were in the 10-12K range not too long ago. Now they are creeping past 20. Nice 944 turbos and 968s were around 8-10 too, and are now 15 or more.

996 prices seem to have stabilized in all of this - and I have yet to actually see one of the fabled 15K good ones I often read about.

Take a look at this 15K or less actually there's one for less than 10K, off course 80000 miles or more, multiple owners and some of them with accident records,

but if you want to buy a garage queen with less than 15000 miles on it, that is another price bracket.

So I would say, a well maintained 996, no accidents, no multiple owners, with less than 60000 miles should go 20 and up, but at the end of the day we are the owners of this vehicles, I know 170000 plus were sold, I don't know how many in the US and Canada and how many of them still on the road. We are the ones, who can decide the price for this cars.

Had a chance to buy a 1991 964 about 5 years ago for $17k.

Instead bought my 996. Oh well, what could have been...

I know just when I am starting to look at adding an older 911, prices are insane with exception to my 996 C4S. Though 996 Turbos went slightly up since I bought mine.

This is very good info. I just walked out to the parking lot and chained my 996 to one of the posts in the lot.

I do feel safer now.

The posts are there to hold up the solar carport the building owner put in. I figure there's a good 200+ pounds of copper up there, as well as a thousand plus square feet of panel, and I'm amazed it hasn't all walked away already.

Well, I hear you but I'd say the camaraderie and helpful community attitude in this forum keeps our 996s on the road. As a result the supply doesn't get reduced so you guys keep delaying my 996 from becoming a classic damit!
