I think the 4 door 996 looks better than the current Panamera. Last time I was in Zuffenhausen was 2004. The Porsche museum was about 10,000 square feet and had about a dozen cars on display.

I agree! It had a 989 badge on the rear deck lid.

Totally agree that this 4-door looks better than Panamera.

It is interesting to note that this 989 design study was developed around 1989-1990. They had the shape of our 996 rear end already designed two generations of 911 (964 & 993) before 996 production

i wonder where the haters are too. i bet they won't knock a gt1's headlights. who cares anyway. i own an 01 c2 and like the headlights. who cares if another guy doesn't. i'm not selling it. i'm a bit annoyed with guys who bag on another guy's car. the owner didn't design it. maybe the owner bought it because he didn't mind or even liked the way it looked. to each his own.

The 989 did not have the "fried egg" headlights it seems. Looks like the 993's headlights.

I was in Darmstadt in May and had a chance to drive on the autobahn from Frankfurt, but didn't have enough time to visit the museum, damn I wish I did, nice pictures!

Thanks for the pics Dennis. How long were you in Germany? Did you venture to the Ring by chance?

I like the 996 headlights a lot, especially the MKI. It is truly different from any 911 and with the right bumper, it can really be set off nicely. I will say that the headlights aren't very photogenic a lot of the time. They look way better in person.
