I think I may have been too late on the car in Utah. Someone saw it locally and wants to buy it. If that falls through it's probably mine.

For my plan B, I'm trying to figure out how much extra value one gets out of a facelift 996?

What is rough about it? According to the ad, it seems like the car was well taken care of.

I looked at the car in December. It was a driver, not a garage queen. There is a small crease/dent on the front lip of the frunk lid and 2 scratches on front bumper, 2 small bb size dings near rear wheels. No documentation for IMS, which the seller says was done.

That last bit would scare me off, because it doesn't make much sense. Any seller who would know and care enough about the car to have the IMSB upgraded would also be a seller who would keep the paperwork for that repair.

EDIT: it also seems strange that he doesn't mention the IMSB in the ad. Sounds more like the seller didn't do it, but when 4driver4 asked about it he said it had been done.

This is proof that people can exaggerate on the ad. Hail dings are easy to fix but not when they are creased. That alone would turn me off the car. If it was replaced with an LN IMSB, there should have been a sticker on the motor lid somewhere to indicate this.
