My guess is that the reserve was based on several 40th Anniversary cars that went for $40k. But, IMO, this is basically a track car, with an X51 motor. Too many of the bits and pieces that make up the complete 40th Anniversary package were gone.

Actually, those are 996 GT3 seats. I had them in another 996. Really comfortable and great for track use. And they have become valuable.

Agreed on value. I don't think someone else's track beast is a good prospect for high dollar sale unless it was driven by Sterling Moss, or Jackie Ickx, etc.

That frunk picture looks like an awd frunk... The gt3 was rwd. At least it doesn’t look like the frunk
in either of my rwd cars. Or does the 996 use a c4 chassis?
