Do make sure that he really means that it was fixed with LN's "The IMS Solution" and can prove it. For the Northeast, it seems like a decent starting price....we're a lot higher than the West Coast from all my past research and recent searches. May be different once you see the vehicle and whether or not it is "immaculate" and get a good PPI.

Yeah, find out if it has 'The Solution' or just LN's standard bearing upgrade. Both are fine, but one is definitely more desirable than the other. I'd say it's a good price for that car if it checks out clean and it's the colors/options you want.

Lapis Blue with Savannah Beige Interior
87.5k miles
Tiptronic Automatic (the auto-manual is just as fun as a clutch without the hassle in the city/traffic)
New Tires (about 15k miles on them)
IMS/RMS fixed with LN Engineering solution
Upgraded Pioneer radio system with CD/DVD and Bluetooth. Sirius XM installed as well
Many age-related fix its already done including spark plugs, coolant tank, etc.
Are you specifically looking for a Tip coupe? There is a 2000 6 speed Cab in CT in Lapis Blue with Savannah Beige that I was going to check out until I found mine. PM me if you would like contact info. Seller seemed legit. IMS was not done but the car was a 99 build 2000 and he had it confirmed the car had a double row bearing.

Seems like 17K is in the realm of reality for that car if it is as nice as it looks.

Pros:
Not black, silver, gray, white
Mk1(better than Mk2!)
Enthusiast owned
Cons:
Tip
Price is firm

If I were shopping, I'd give it a look, and I think the price is competitive given that the IMS work is done, even if it's not the new Solution lubed sleeve type. Likely has a repl clutch and RMS at the same time.

It's a Tiptronic, no clutch. But it needs the filter/fluid changed at 90K.

Thank you! and apologies. Hehe, I wrote 'tip' right up there, and then talked about a clutch. Sometimes the fingers are not attached to the brain.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful responses. I am definitely looking for a coupe. Ambivalent about the tip. I have a manual 944 and C5 vette and part of me thinks I would use the 996 more given where I live in southeastern Connecticut, if it had an automatic transmission. Not scared of Mileage. Do a lot of my own wrenching.

FWIW, I have been in the market for a clean low mile TT Tip few months now, I went into it thinking the Tiptronic would bring a nice discount and haven't necessarily found that to be the case. There appears to be more negativity amongst 'BaT commenters' regarding Tips than there is with actual buyers and sellers.
