Oh, you understand there is no such thing as a free ride. Even to get CarFax's so called 60 day "unlimited" search costs someone $70.00. Dealerships pay CarFax annual fees to the tune of $15,000+ to get the same feature.

You remind me of those guys that used to hang out around newspaper vending machines hoping some fool would let them grab a "free" newspaper. Guy tried that on my grandfather (WWII vet) and he slammed his hand in the newspaper vending machine door. Walked away shaking his bruised fingers.

I wouldn't mind running a VIN if I'd had a 60 day unlimited account - but I'm not searching at the moment, so I was looking for somebody who has such a kind of access...
37.95 is imho a bit much for a single report.

I'm not sure if I get you correctly - that guy asked your grandfather for the newspaper when your grandpa no longer had a need for it and your grandpa slammed his hands?

I'm just looking for a fellow RL'er to help - if that's not you, I'm ok with that (and I've seen such request before and people got help)...

ugh, no, people hang out around the paper vending machines (see picture) hoping that a person that purchases a newspaper will let them get one out (without paying) of the newspaper vending machine. Comprende?

You may think it's a noble service, but technically it's illegal to buy the 60-day unlimited access from Carfax and distribute the reports for other people.

I paid a few months ago $23,995 for my 99 arena red C2 6 speed with 56k and its spotless inside and out with no issues or leaks, it does have hollow spoke wheels but stock other than that.
unbelievable. That's what I paid for a 00 C2 with 19K miles.

I see you're a long time member. Take a look at the 996 Forum guidelines, regarding Rennlist support for Carfax TOS. Pretty common these days, I think, as many online forums now have corporate owners.

I actually witnessed it happen as a kid. He looked the guy straight in the eyes and said, "You'll pay for the paper just like everyone else!" Guy didn't say anything, just turned and walked away shaking his hands trying to relieve some of the pain. hahaha

Default 996 in SF

Hi guys, I'm new to Rennlist, have been on Pelican on and off over the years, but recently started searching for a 996 since the air cooled cars have really taken off on price. I have a disassembled 912 in the basement that probably won't see the open road for several years. The 996 seems to be a tremendous value (the new 74 -76 2.7L), and something I can drive and enjoy today! Wanted to know if anyone has looked at this car, or know anything about it? I'm interested, but price seems low and I'm located in NJ, so no chance of seeing it in person.

I think it's over priced considering the high mileage. I've seen similar cars with same mileage and condition go for $13k.

Here's an example of a high mileage 996.. The price is incredible, these things are dropping in prices like flies! Yes I know it's from a small dealers and there's usually an untold stories behind their cars. Of course always do a thorough PPI when you buy from any person or place.

Here's another cheap high mileage but from an individual. Price is negotiable.
