Vincent T.-Keep in mind that there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche!
Where in Texas are you? I purchased and 03 in March in Spring, TX.
Here is an 02 from same dealer that looks pretty nice.

Advertised as sale by owner, but actually a dealer (eastdallasmotorcars.com). FWIW, if there's a VIN in the ad, always Google it to see what pops up. You might find the car in a salvage auction or on a used car lot.
No accidents on the Carfax, for whatever that is worth. Probably no service history -- looks like it's been through several hands, including a couple auctions. Nice color, gray interior looks OK. The price is probably about right for a Tiptronic, which (around here at least) goes for quite a bit less than a stick.
Personally, my preferred order of sellers probably has a outfit like this as the least desirable. They're not specialists, so they probably don't know that much about the car. I wouldn't necessarily rule this car out, but even with a good PPI it would still be somewhat of a crapshoot.

I don't think so. I don't notice noise or drafts, but the cab definitely isn't as stiff as a coupe, so there are probably more creaks and rattles over rough roads. I imagine you hear the engine more in a cab, which I don't think is a bad thing. The top mechanism is complex and is one more potential point of failure, although (sound of knocking on wood) I haven't had any problems with mine. Properly maintained, these are pretty durable cars.

Very nice 99. I am partial to the coupes, like this one, but I think I would want a cab if I were living on the big island. My wife and I were there last February and hit most of the highlights. It is a magical place, unlike anywhere else I have been. Rolling green hills, a little bit of beach, desert, desolate lava fields, rain forest, and an active volcano, all on one island. I have thought seriously of retiring there, at least for a while.

Starting to look at cars in the Minneapolis area. Here are two on CL that look interesting. I'm pretty new to this and curious what the forum thinks.

Holler MN homie. Small world. I was casually looking at both of these also; as well as a nice 2008 targa. Looks like the 2002 is the only one left that grabbed my attention.
Did you happen to request any info from the owner on the 2002 or was that for the 1999?
Also; i think the 2002 is pretty juicy?
What does the crowd think? Any feelings on 92.5k on the clock for $21.5k. Value vs the mileage?

We went to Maui and the big island last February after going to Oahu and Maui the year before that. Spent two weeks each time. We went two years in a row because I really enjoyed that first trip so much. I could be talked into going again next year. There are still a few things I want to do. You are right about it being expensive, both as a tourist and a resident. We went sky diving at the North Shore (jumped from 14,300 feet), deep sea fishing off Maui, whale watching (we had an incredible experience with three whales breaching multiple times within 50 yards of the fishing boat on the way back to the dock, a big bonus on the fishing trip), snorkeling with Manta Rays (very cool), zip lining, horse back riding, a guided volcano tour (worth every penny), and a helicopter ride around the big island with the stop at the waterfall (more expensive that the round trip airfare from SC to HI). We did a bunch of other stuff too, such as plantation tours, Pearl Harbor, sailboat sunset sail, beaches, restaurants, driving around, etc). Each trip cost more than what I paid for my 911. Great memories.
Sorry to hijack the thread so I added some pictures for amusement. The big Mahi that I am holding was caught by my daughter who flew out to spend a few days with us on Maui during the second trip. Picture of the whale is from the fishing boat on the same fishing trip.
