Default finally got rid of all my squeaks and rattles

Been driving the car for over a year and each corner has had a different rattle depending upon the day and temp. I finally stopped all of them. Just below the climate control module there is a box, with a button, if you push the button it says PORSCHE. It plays music.

Turn it up past 11 and no more rattles. Who knew. But now can not hear the engine as well either.

You must not have a cab... The rattles are non-stop. Its like a game of wack-a-mole. I eliminate one rattle (thank you Porsche TSBs) and another one pops up.

Yes they are non-stop! What's the secret to fixing the driver's side door rattle? I haven't seen a TSB on this.

I only have ONE annoying rattle, more like a tick, coming from somewhere in the back seat area. Sounds like someone's tapping out Morse code back there! Can't figure out what's causing it. Otherwise, my car would be quiet (except for the engine, tire noise, etc)!

Check the tension of the spring on your parking brake. I thought I had a rattle in my door for a year and it turned out to be an adjustment on parking brake.

For the cab there are a number of Porsche TSBs related to rattles that can be found over at http://www.renntech.org/forums/tsbs/

Nos.: 7057, 6101 etc.

You had me for a minute! When I first bought my 2004 C2 I was quite **** as I felt I paid top $$ and it was a CPO car from a dealer so I nit picked the crap out of it. Decided to test the salesman's claim that the CPO warranty was as if I purchased the car brand new and even a squeak or rattle would be covered. Unbelievable that the dealer actually fixed every rattle, even ones I could have lived with. They did this in one visit. When I returned to shoot the bull I asked how much test driving it took and they said ZERO. They claimed that Porsche had a CD that is used in the stock stereo and the frequencies expose most interior rattles and vibrations. Wasn't sure if I should believe them but 7 years and 60k miles later and their fix still holds.

I'm chasing one in the drivers door. I've read it could be the latch so I have adjusted that and now it's possible it could be the handbrake which I did a while back and then had brakes replaced with adjustment and now it's back. I'll try adjusting that again - any other ideas?

Note: those hex torx heads are a pain (very easy to strip). I swapped mine out for allen heads from ACE hardware. Perfect match in threads, length and they are stainless...only we know for sure - ha.

Good point. I'll start with the strike and then move on to -- https://rennlist.com/forums/2796988-post11.html -- if it's still a problem.

I just use the long thin "rattle-be-gone" button in the driver's foot well. Combined with limited use of the clutch I think the smile on my face suggests that no rattles are bothering me at that time

We have a couple of annoying rattles, but I just drop a gear or two and forget about them

Quick Reply: finally got rid of all my squeaks and rattles
