yeah, I know. When you do a search for 1999 911 it comes up. My big problem with the article is that the original series of articles was titled GM's deadly sins which led to their demise and eventual bankruptcy. I think GM's deadly sin #1 was the Citation if I remember correctly.

The 996 actually saved Porsche and made it a stronger company.

The guy who wrote this article is clue less

I'd love to see his selling price comparisons 996-1 @ $20k and a 996-2 @ $50k. Not very accurate.

Don't feed the trolls. This guy's not thinking clearly due to his having to drive with the heat on full blast in heavy traffic in his 993..

Long-time Porsche owners found the 996 driving experience to be as bewildering as the build quality. This was a quiet, flimsy-feeling car that outhandled, outaccelerated, and outbraked the outgoing 993 while never feeling anything like as substantial as said air-cooled predecessor.

This sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Could have just as easily said:

Gilligan found Ginger to be incredible in the sack. Full bosom, narrow waist and a hellcat under the sheets. However, he wished Mrs. Howell were with him instead.

Imagine if porsche had stayed with the air cool engine?

Just like Suzuki in the late 80's when they had to changed the gsxr super bike to water cooled to increase power. Either change or die a slow embarrassing death

I bought one of those water cooled gsxr. 750 !

Haha! Got about 1/4 of the way through the article and had to quit.

The author clearly has a chip on his shoulder and is very biased. He must have a 993

Cmon, we can do better than a 2010 blog post for our fix of 996-bashing, can't we?

Easily, but it's cool to know that Jack has a Rennlist account. I like his writing quite a bit when he's not making fun of my car.
