I wish I'd done it sooner also, I waited two years, but then my standard suspension was in good shape and the car was still driving nicely beforehand, I did it more for looks as I feel the 996 needs dropped.

Just alignment, toe, camber etc. The suspension doesn't have adjustable height so it can't be corner balanced.
