Early Build (Jan 98) 3.4 Carrera 02 sensors CAT delete info HELP
Hello I have a 3.4 Carrera throttle cable car with pre cat and down stream 02 sensors. I'm looking for information about the downstream sensors. I'm currently building building a strait pipe configuration and want to know the role of the secondary 02s? Do they just measure the cats? Will not having them plugged in cause the car to make any fuel / air adjustments or anything else that can effect or damage the engine. I understand I'll get a check engine light I'm also looking for a tune/ solution but want to know if it's safe to use the car until than? Any information greatly appreciated thank you.

Simple way is to use the O2 sensor spacers with the small cats built in, they will fool the downstream in to thinking its after a cat.
Some even get away with just putting a spacer to push the sensor farther away from the exhaust tube..
Its just a cheap narrowband sensor that gives a cycling signal to the ecu..

U can avoid the check engine light with the spacers (maybe). If u dont put them in it wont hurt anything just gives the code.

The 90° mini-cats worked well on the x-pipe I had for a while.
