Is there a recommended Amplifier upgrade that can replace the OEM Amp, mines an early build with no Bose or anything fancy, but I do have 6 speakers and the stock headunit

Hey this thing is pretty cool!
Power Acoustik CP-71w
$140 only at Walmart
As the S2000 and Lotus forums have discovered, it’s one of the very few “true” single-din CarPlay units out there.
Got it installed yesterday in about an hour. I had an Alpine deck in there before and harness was already hacked, so no ideas how you’d wire this to OEM.

Does anyone know what harness/connections would be needed to install this in a 2000 C2 Cab with factory HiFi option (M490)?

Same hardness I used to install a Sony head unit in my M490 coupe.

I was hoping more for a plug and play version. That looks like a buy and hire an installer version.

I have a 2002 with Bose (non-MOST) and as far as I can tell there is no "plug and play" amp option. You would think that its possible to remove the factory amp, drop in an aftermarket amp, and utilize the factory wiring harnesses, but I have researched and it doesn't seem like the option exists. The most straight forward option I have seen is the CAI amp kit that comes with pre-wired harnesses. That still requires running RCA cables back to the head unit and I assume some fiddling with the factory harness at the amp though. Happy to be proven wrong if someone knows something I don't!

Years ago I bought a Bluetooth adapter from Discount Car Stereo for my CDR-220 and the harness they sent was true plug and play. That system still works great. I'm getting ready to do the Heat/AC foam replacement from the cabin and figured I might as well add a modern radio with Car Play while I have everything apart. I'll have to check with them about a solution.

Hello Guys this is my first question on a forum ever I hope this is gonna work but ive seen alot of activitiy to this date so im hopefull.
I bought the sadocom Unit from aliexpress for my 2001 Carrera 4 Cabri. so no Bose and no Most as far as ive understood. I tried installing it myself and quickly stumbled opon the display not even turning on. After getting some great and fast responses from Sadocom I got told to switch one Connection at the wiring harness and after it turned on perfectly. Now my problem is I have no sound. After again contacting Sadocom he told me hed send me a new wiring harness even tho im pretty sure thats not the problem. Ive read here alot of solutoins and fixes and feel like my problem probably has already been anserwed somewhere but I cant seem the find that one post helping me out. I have two connectors a black one and a smaller yellow one ( I do not have the brown connector!) thats it, as far as I understood the yellow one is responsible for my Sound not coming out of the speakers. Ive read that jim010 apparently is able to help with my situation. As Ive seen him talk about a certain part that I maybe need to buy too for it to work properly. Any help is appreciated, since I really would like to understand why it doesnt work and why a certain fix would help and not just fix it without knowing what I'm doing. Thanks in advance for the help

I'm looking for the tiniest possible subwoofer (for home use, not car) and stumbled across the PioneerTS-WX0101A, which is only 4.63” x 9” x 2.75”, with a built-in 50-watt amp. I know other "underseat" subs do not fit in the 996, but wonder whether this one might. I thought I'd post it here in case anyone is interested in looking at it further. It can't be a powerhouse at that size, but reviews are good and I'd guess adding one of these (or a pair) would still be a huge bass upgrade for the stock speaker system.
The Pioneer unit is not cheap considering how tiny it is ( ) at $206 (and it's $279 on Crutchfield!).
Oddly, there appears to be a Carrozzeria Pioneer sub-brand that (at a quick glance) looks to be the same sub for $125ish from Japan on Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/12666574641...Bk9SR76du9m7ZA)
NOTE/DISCLAIMER: I have not tried this sub, and I don't know if it fits under the seat in the 996 -- just posting in case somebody wants to look into it a bit more for the 996.
