I have to say....I like the look of the $300 dollar ones better than the $800 version....

Thanks for posting.

I agree. I don't really like the pattern of the more expensive lights.

What is the function like on the ebay lights? I was told they don't work properly by a guy at my indy shop, but I want to upgrade/update the look and like the original look better than the pdk look.

My eBay lights gave me no trouble at all. No hyper flashing issues or CEL's. The only caution is to not plug in the long skinny wire. The resulting fire is smelly.

after looking at both I would tend to agree.... the non-pdk lights do look nice on a 996 and they are $500 cheaper.... are there any bulbs you need to buy for them or is the kit complete?

As for the eBay lights, the only bulbs needed are the reverse lights. There are no other bulbs needed as the lighting is built into the housings.

Wow - I really like these lights.....it is hard to justify spending $300 bucks to replace the stock ones - that are working just fine...but, I really like these lights!!!!

you can get these new for under 300 shipped. I then sold my stock one's for over 300 so...it worked out for me.
I won't ever go back to stock so I sold my oem ones

I just ordered a set off of Amazon. If I want to replace the two remaining incandescent bulbs with LEDs, what spec of white LED should I be looking for?

I did some swapping around of the wiring and the sections of the tail light that are used for the different functions. The two large LED sections on the outside are blinker (top) which turn red when illuminated, and brakes/driving lights on the bottom. I used the old bulbs on the inside sections for the reverse lights (top clear) and the fog lights (botton red). Note that the fog light only illuminates on one side.
