Los Angeles area suggestions for suspension work, alignment, and spare key programmin

Hi,

Thanks to all that responded in my thread about asking about choices and suggestions for struts and coilovers.

I think I've narrowed it down to either ROW 030 or H&R coilovers (available in price closest to the ROW 030 kit; I still need lighter seats with grippier surfaces to replace the all power ones ex factory; Hawk or Pagid pads and track ready rotors; LSD; possibly a change to 996.2 or 997 shifter and cables, though lusting for the numeric racing SSK; and a few other minor mods)

Would really appreciate suggestions for Los Angeles / South Bay / Westside / SFV / SGV shops that really know what they are doing suspension wise, but don't charge race shop rates.

Should I do the alignment at the same shop, or an alignment specialist? Suggestions? I've heard about someone in Southbay / Torrance that is supposed to be tops but can't remember the name.

Silly question - any suggestions on where / how to get a spare key for my 1999 C2? Local Porsche stealerships want upwards of $450+ for the remote head, key blank, cutting and programming! Holy rip off! I can get the remote head and key blank for $200 but then no one wants to program or cut it for me...

:banghead::crying:

Thanks in advance.

Dan @ The Speed Gallery in North Hollywood. Reasonable rates, quality work, and tons of 996/997 race car build experience...

I personally always go to Johnson's Alignment in Torrance for suspension/alignment stuff. I've gone there for a better part of over 10 years. Always solid setup and reasonably priced as well.

I've been really happy with Eurospec motoring on Pico. Haven't done suspension or alignment there, but I think they quoted me $700 or $800 for installing a ROW M030 with alignment.

Thanks for the tips, guys! Anyone have a suggestion for the spare key?

Call all the recommended shops and ask for estimates for the work you're considering. I think you're stuck with a stealership for the key cutting/programming, I'd try Pacific Porsche (Torrance) and tell them you're a POC/PCA member.....

West end alignment... Hands down the best. Affordable and track proven.

+1 for me & my 10 years of Porsche ownership. While the OP is here he can stroll down to Callas Rennsport for the spare key & programming.

Ideally everyone should get their programming codes A.S.A.P from a dealer for future emergency use.

Heard nothing but GREAT things about Johnson's Alignment shop.
