Yes, those are the main issues. You had one advantage, namely facelift chassis. Much less wiring to be done and no need to change HVAC compared to my MY'00 with PSM. Which still works.

How's the IC ducting from scoops to ICs done? I had OEM ducts on my hands and ditched them after I saw the space inside rear fenders...

Suman Mitra, thanks for posting. I absolutely get it. Your car is an amazing and unique 996. Very Cool!

Pete95zhn, I have read every post that you have ever made about your car. Your attention to detail on your conversion has made your 996 one of the ultimate narrow bodied examples.

I love the idea of doing an engine swap into our cars. If I could ever get the engine in mine to expire, I would seriously consider a TT, GT3, or LS3 (Renegade) transplant. I appreciate both of you guys posting details here about your cars....they provide inspiration for those of us that enjoy something different.
You guys both have aesthetically pleasing solutions for the IC scoops. It is too bad that there isn't a solution that would allow the IC inlet to be concealed....that would make it a great sleeper. Unfortunately the IC inlet ducts hint at the monster that lurks underneath the hood (or trunk in the case of our cars). Great job guys!

Thanks!

About that IC issue. Check out Excellence #214. There's an article about Jeff Zwart's Pikes Peak hillclimber by BBI. Turbo'd GT3RS with water to air ICs. Very trick and most likely expensive system, but if it can keep that car cool in that race, it can do it everywhere. I hope I should have seen that few years back. I was told then that it is impossible to do a water to air system that can withstand track use.

Had no issues with Intercoolers I can see except for the need to trim stock intercooler ducts. Car just put down 650bhp on pump gas at EPL. Youll be suprised how well this conversion was done. Please call Morgan Adams at At speed he can fill you in. Everything looks just a little squeezed in. Upgraded inlets needed modifying but thats it.

Rear bumper was made custom for the Twin Turbo spacing. Tips fit perfect. Heres a better pic.

Tightness of the engine bay especially with 3" piping.

Nice! You even managed to fit the engine fan. Have you thought about cutting the trunk to match the intake and sealing up everything else?
