Default New Porsche Owner with a few questions (UPDATE PICS)

Hi everyone!
I am new to this forum, and I recently ( half a week ago) got a 996 Carrera delivered to my house. The car is in good condition. It has scratches here and there, but after I detailed it, it looks way better.

Car performs amazing! This is not the fastest car I currently own, but it was exactly what I was looking for. A small 6 MT fun car.

I do however have a couple of concerns!

1st: After driving for about 10 minutes, I get a smell inside the car like something is burnt. Not a sweet smell to be exact, but something very faint. It was cold outside, so I had the heater on. I am wondering if this is a serious issue, and is it dangerous? I have not noticed any leaks, or any signs of leaks. I also noticed it to be a bit more intense from the driver side than the passenger side. I do get the Porsche car smell from the back around the Engine after driving it hard for a bit, but is this related?

2nd: After a cold start, I let the engine warm up a bit, and started to drive ( it was about 30F outside). At my first stop sign, I got a beep from the computer, looked down to see a yellow dash, with an oil can and the message read " Indicator Failure". My oil pressure went down to 0, then after 5 seconds, message went away, and the pressure went back to normal. This happened twice, and have not seen again yet. I monitored the engine temp and all the other gauges since this happened and everything was normal. Engine sounded normal, nothing seemed wrong. I hear it was a sensor that might be on its way out, but I am still concerned about this.

Car has almost 57K miles on it.

Please let me know what you advise, as I am planning on sharing the car with other people in the family, and wouldn't want them to freak out about the smell, since I am not sure what it is.

I can answer #2 for you. It is your oil pressure sending unit. Common failure.

Thank you! So that is one issue down.

I might Do it myself when I have time. Just the first time I heard the beep and saw my pressure go down to 0, I sunk in my seat and almost cried from fear. It was also the first time I really took the car out on the road. Very scary!

I would guess that the burning smell is normal, but it's hard to be sure without experiencing it in person.

I guess I should take it to a specialist then. I will update the first post with pictures.

Nice car, congrats.
Oil pressure sending unit.
Thin 19mm crows foot, may have to grind a cheap one a little thinner, with ball end extension either from top or bottom with right rear tire removed. Spade connectors are different sizes so goofing up polarity by reversing them is hard.

Yes, that is my 2013 M5. I did European Delivery on it back in May. Awesome car, but not for the winter, so I am storing it in my garage.

Also I am close to New Hope, in PA

What if it's leaking as well as compromised I don't know the design well enough is it mounted in such a way this could happen? If it's spraying oil on something hot you might have answered both 1 & 2.

Thank you!

By the way, I took the car out again tonight, seemed like the smell has gotten less intense. I guess it was due to not using the heater in a long time. Car came from Oklahoma, so maybe the previous owner never needed to use the heater. Once again the car run and purrs fine. Just gotta deal with that sensor now.

Check the cabin air filter, passenger side of the frunk under the perforated plastic cover. Mice love that area. Could be the strange smell.

Looks like 2002 or newer. There are some year specific parts so good to add it to your sig.

Good looking car... Does it smell like burnt coolant? Oil? Rubber? Exhaust?
