Default Good week in the 996 forum...

At least one new IMS thread, a thread about oil shearing, and a couple of "is the 996 worth it" threads.

All is right in the world.

In other news, looks like I finally have a weekend open enough that I'll be able to install my semi-solid motor mounts. Woot!

Don't forget the thread that evolved into a boobie thread(Thanks Hurdi).

Now we just need some unicorns to complete it for the grand slam.

Oh, crap, I also left out "Hurdigurdiman reaffirmed his opinion that the IMS bearing issue is a hoax, and that he is no more likely to change out his bearing than to delete his vast photo collection of teenage family members in swimwear."

I did this to the passenger window of a good friend's car. I felt really bad about it until he thanked me for at least not continuing to roll the window down when I heard the grinding...

Sorry, Derek!

My neighbor informed me last night that if I keep washing my car so often I will wash the paint off of it. Is 996 paint that crappy? Should I go for the full respray? If so, Porsche factory paint or the upgraded version?

There's a hybrid ceramic/solvent paint you may want to use. It's $900 per pint.

I'm surprised your PPI did not detect thinning paint.

Maybe someone can volunteer and wash their car with Dawn for 5 years(and not use any wax/sealers in between) and see what happens.

On that note, I've actually polished primer before and made it glossy.

Individual spray cans should suffice
