Wall mounted cabinet 1, Carrera 0

Just recently closed on our house, which has wall mounted cabinets throughout the garage. Wife was pulling a towel out of a cabinet this morning and the entire cabinet fell onto the hood of my car. It was just mounted into the dry wall, which is simply retarded. Have a few good size dents in the hood, and paint is scuffed up pretty bad in a few spots. Pretty livid, but what can I do...

Wife has bad luck in the garage, last year put a large cooler on a shelf at our old place and it ended up falling on my rear fender, which is another good sized dent on my car.

I think you should keep her out of the garage or find a new place to park your car.
Sorry about your misfortune......

Have you considered building a steel cage around your car?

Only car in the world where "garage kept" hurts its value.

Two questions:

Homeowners or auto Insurance?

OEM or Carbon Fiber hood?

:D

Have you considered a different wife?

I feel for you - and for your wife. No worse feeling than having to tell a car lover that their baby just acquired some new dents.

Time for a respray.

Have homeowners, and full coverage. Although not sure if even a $500 deductible would be worth it. OEM hood, considering PDR

Sad story...but it would be a good idea to give your house a good once over. If a previous owner was that stoopid there could be other dangers lurking. I'd start with wiring and plumbing.

I'm sure your wife feels horrible. Luckily no one got hurt.

Time for an upgrade on the....car? GT3 maybe?
It's just a car.
I dropped a 10' piece of aluminum pipe on mine last year. I could feel the steam pressure building and then I just chilled and walked away, didn't even stop everything to address it immediately.
After some cool down time and PDR, some polish, and clay bar it's barely noticeable.
I tried to rationalize it by "The car is 10yrs old." "Now it has a little character." I'm still pis-ed at my clumsy move. Car still drives wonderfully.

+1 on checking other things in the house. What are the kitchen cabinets screwed into?

Pictures of wife and car to assist us in making a decision!
