Hey guys,

Thinking about getting a ROW M030 suspension kit, would this be something I could install myself? Never done any suspension work before, but have done simple DIY work (motor mounts, 997 shifter, brakes, etc). Would I need any special tools such as a spring compressor?

Just bought 4 Esco jack stands and a low profile jack tonight and want to put them to good use. Local indy wants to charge me $700 for installation and alignment.

Yes this is a DIY........do a search for X74/030 installation. There are many threads on RL about this. If you don't have the time $700 is not bad pricing.

700 for instalation and allignment sounds like a good deal, allignment will be around 250 so he is charging 450 for the install, sounds good.

The install is doable at home but it will take much longer than an Indy without all the power tools needed, lift etc.

My mistake when I saw M030 you know what came to mind

997 do it at the Indy, 993 was easier to work on.

I did the ROW install on my c4s last summer. All wheel drive adds complexity to the job and of course frustration. It is very do able with simple tools. I do not own a compressor nor a lift. Take your time and be able to walk away from it when things get frustrating to avoid making mistakes.

$750 with alignment sounds almost too good. I would not cheap (not saying that shop is incapable by any means) out on the labor when the suspension is involved.

At the end it transformed the car and it was very gratifying to do job at home. I used the 996 suspension how to on rennlist after paying to become a member. Well worth it.

Are there any bushings or a thing else that would be worth replacing while I'm doing this? Or just install everything that comes with the kit?
