Before I got my car, while looking, I thought I'd do this mod or get a MkII. Once I bought my MkI, they grew on me and I actually like them especially as an homage to the GT1. Funny how perspectives change. I thought the lack of glove box would be a big nuisance, but don't miss it with the big door pockets. When I had my 964, I used to think the 996 aero taco wings were goofy, but now it's my favorite part of the car.

No waves from Beatles.....yet.
Two Pics to show the look I was seeking. I know it is personal what each person likes but I just wanted to show what I did.
As the owner of a 964 cab which was my daily driver from '04 until 2013, I am amazed what a great car the 996 is. I was reluctant to buy because of all of the Ims issues but when I found one with LN upgrade and 10k miles on a new engine, I had to buy it. I look forward to every chance to drive it. It makes my daily commute a treat.

Without trying to make it a 997 wannabe and preserve some of the 996 fried egg nature, I plan to black out the internal bits behind the lense like this GT1. Personally I think it still makes it look more aggressive while distinguishing it just enough from a stock 996 headlight.

When I was looking at 911's and oblivious to all the headlight nonsense, I actually thought the 996 was the newest design. Obviously as I researched more I realised it wasn't but I like the lights. This is an example to me of tradition standing in the way of progress. I don't like the oval lamps for oval lamps sake. They should serve a purpose. The 996 headlights are well designed, well integrated and must result in less drag than the lip on the unnecessary retro style lamps. Do you see ferrari's continuing with daytona or pop up style headlamps, no, why? Because they're old fashioned, they have their place IN HISTORY. It's nonsense, I love the design of my c4s from all angles and couldn't give a **** what some air cooled or 997/991 aircooled wannabe thinks. We've got the boldest car, freshest design, they're just following the pack...losers ;-)
Ps 'that doesn't mean I dislike or disapprove of mod's people do to their cars, it's a car, a toy really, do what you want and enjoy, who gives a stuff what anyone left in your dust thinks'

Tinted vinyl film for headlights 996/986. Partial cover to highlight only the transparent area of headlights and fog. Color similar to the side direction indicator lens. Designed to be cut on printer plotter, without blade and risk to damaging the acrylic of headlamp.
