These look great, but only work for a dark paint. BTW, I bet your car would look nicer with smoke side markers, very cheap on eBay.

HAHA! You are correct. Take my word it was not done on purpose. Here is another pic that I like with the headlights shown.

Regarding not covering the turn signal......my ebay covers had a cutout for the turn signals. I have a black car so covered this with a black piece of paper thin plastic or tinted plastic and the orange signal shines right through. When not flashing it looks black. Texas annual inspection laws require not covering a turn signal but I take it to a clueless gas station and when they see the orange flash don't distinguish it from non-996 911's.
Regarding the comment above that if you don't like the 996 headlights get a different model, I disagree. 996's have modern technology and are the cheapest generation you can buy. I absolutely advocate a few hundred-dollar-cosmetic mod to make a great inexpensive car look awesome.

I like the look of mine as they are. They do remind me of a cat or some Asian eyes, however.

Never, ever, not once had anyone say they don't like 'em, other than people on a few select web forum sites.

Looks good on black cars if you want the traditional 911 headlight look and cheap to do with tint. On all other colors, looks like crap. They have some covers they sell on ebay that are plastic stick on ones you have to get painted. Personally, I like the looks of my 996 headlights. Regardless, a 996 is still a 996. Not a slam, I think they look great on black....but you can still tell what it is......tint on the headlights.

I'm just sick of other Porsche owners coming from the opposite lane not giving me a wave until they get closer to see that it's not a Boxster. j/k

The Mk II headlights look much better, and more importantly, not like Boxster headlights........

I agree. Many say that the Mk-I's look like fried eggs. I tried to see what my car looks like with Bangers & Mash instead. Kind of a good look, I think.

Yep - me too AND I have to say that there was a time that it bugged me a bit but y'know given the chance to drive such an awesome car that bugging has diminished to nothing. I too take the inspiration from the GT1 and remember when the 996 came out as the first water pumper with weird lights...and I seem to recall them winning some awards for the design and engineering of that headlight pod too.....true the public has spoken and we generally prefer the round look but still there's nothing to be ashamed of for sure.

To the OP - I do like the look of your car with the tint - cool mod!
