A 911e
In 1984 got a 1973 911s
Skipped 20 years in 2004 got the 2001 996

I'm 55.
-Started w/ aircooled VW's at age 14 in 1972.
-First Porsche was a '67 911 in '83.
- '78 924 when I went to pilot training in '85
- '87 944S in '92
- '90 944S2 cabriolet in '94(still have)
then a '70 91 project
- grabbed up 3 '84 928S cars as ongoing projects (still have all 3 in various stages of resto)
Started on 986 Boxsters- buy one, pay it off, keep it, buy another. Now have 4
Bought my '99 996 w/ aerokit this past fall
Snagged a '71 914 two weeks ago.

I have no wife, no kids, a good job and a big shop. I have a blast w/ my 996 and Boxsters and will snag another 996 this spring.

10 total P-cars in the stable. 6 are drivers, 4 being restored.

I'm a happy guy!

Feel very luck to own my 'poster' car; only able to own it because I do ALL my own wrenching, lots of hard work(and a lot more to come!), and a very supportive family.
I will have to make it out to one of the GTA G.T.G. this year!
Regards,
Rob

Staggerwing... you beat me by 3 years. I also play the 5 string banjo as well and have a private single engine flying license. What is it with us old farts? We have more get up and go than most 20 year olds hahaha. So my 72years oldest 911 owner has tumbled dammit lol. Oh and thumbs up for RBC123 at 70years of age. Now dont tell me you do all your own DIY work on your 911 (as I do).. Can I hold that record please? hahaha. The oldest DIY 911 owner?

I learned I was unable to maintain a 928, so got a 986. I had to wait until my last of my three boys moved out of the house to get my upgrade. Utility, water, licenses', cars, insurance, money here and there, and basically feeding three boys was expensive. Now, all over 18 years of age and time for them to struggle on their own, while Dad drives a Carrera. lol Age 47.

Well definitely a motorhead/DIY guy since a teen as relative to our domestic vehicles & then street rods , bikes, go carts, & Rotax engines, but, a Porsche mechanic ?, I'll leave that honor to you as I'm still trying to educate myself but have done a few things so far. Here's a pic of my home made magnetic metal detector--much easier to lose a half pint of oil & wipe inside of filter housing for a check rather than draining 11 qts to look at a plug. Did you ever try to totally remove metal debris from one of these plugs ?
These magnets are super powerful !

I pop riveted them on thru the c'sunk .12 holes w/ the flange part of the rivet towards the filter.
Be very carefull handling these individually & keeping them at least a foot apart as they will travel quite a distance & @ a high velocity to connect to each other damaging fingers &/or shattering themselves.
My apologies for detouring this thread
