Default Which 996 to buy? #1 or #2

Have been searching for a 996 for a few months. Have had 2 PPI which failed the car.
These 2 are both silver and 2003 w/black leather.
#1 in Fl. 102k, PSM, heated seats, 18" light wheels, no has CD storage , CD storage under radio, black gauges, recent clutch, 19.5 drive out + temp tag.

#2 96k, no PSM, has CD storage, SS exshaust, rear wiper, heated seats, silver accents near shifter and on brake handle, 18" light wheels, white gauges, ship to fl. 4-500 20,250.00 drive out

What do you think ? I am tending to go for for #1

They sound very similar. I'd let the PPI guide your decision, as well as any other things that might help with your decision like maintenance records or history.

Also - The CD storage tray can be added if this is a feature that you really want. I found it to be quite a waste of space when I had one. Most people replace it with an open storage container that works well for a phone, sunglasses, etc. I do like PSM, especially if you drive in the rain frequently.

Thanks Dennis,
The one in Tx, has no maint. history and is more than 1200.00 extra. when you add ship or pick up. PSM would be good to have in Fl. (when it rains it pours) and on the Tail of the Dragon ! (:
Where can one get a storage bin like you mentioned ?
I would do a PPI on the Fl. car 1st .

I concur with PPI on the FL car first. If it meets with your approval, go for it.

Suncoast Porsche (www.suncoastparts.com) has the storage bin and all sorts of other factory accessory parts. They're based in FL which will keep shipping costs down for you.

Good luck with the PPIs and hopeful purchase.

Make sure the car has the features you want, aero kits and full leather are a must (for me anyway.) I'm in Cocoa Fl and have never found rain to be an issue with or without PSM, ice is a whole 'nother ballgame. Are you sure you want silver? Silver 911s are a dime a dozen it seems. For me to go over $20k for an 03' hardtop the car would have to be immaculate with very fresh consumables (tires, waterpump, brakes, clutch)

I think my car is a better choice than either of those.

Good plug. Actually, if I were in the market now for a 996 I'd give serious attention to those listed for sale on Rennlist. Most are enthusiasts who get the picture of Porsche ownership and really care about keeping their Porsches in top condition. History, condition, mileage and who the seller is, all help form an opinion of the Porsche you are buying. Hope your PPIs work out for you.

Good thing both have the heated seats, with that cold FL weather!

Good luck w/ whichever you buy!

Well as soon as I wanted to schedule a PPI , he would NOT return my calls, or e mail.
Its a dealer in N Miami Exotic Cars I think. Has been on E Bay x2 bids no where close to what he wanted to sell the car.
Very insisting that I buy the car, then when it came to the PPI , silence.!!
Back to looking again.

Try looking on The Mart on the PCA website if you're a member. There are often some very nice, well-maintained cars for sale there.
