The amazing thing about the video is that they pad was in backwards long enough to wear through the damn disc! I would think that the noise would have been incredible.

I happily completed changing out my rear brake pads yesterday and the same thing happened to me. Scraping. Yikes! I had just read this thread. So, I knew what it most likely was. Sure enough. I had one of the pads in backwards even after just reading about this. I thought I was being vigilant. My excuse is that I was thinking about a woman. **** happens. No damage done and all is well and my brakes are excellent.

I'll take it one step further. Several years ago I was at Texas World Speedway for a DE. Pitted next to me was a 70's vintage Indycar. It had a V8 of some kind with stacks and it was LOUD. The "crew" spent the better part of the day trying to get the thing to run. One guy had a dixie cup of fuel and he would pour it down the stacks, then another guy (wearing shorts, short sleeve shirt and HELMET) would approach the rear of the car with the external starter (looked like a VW engine wth a pinion sticking out he front). BLAP, BLAP, BLAP, it would run for a few seconds and then it was back to the dixie cup fuel. This went on for HOURS. Did I mention it was LOUD? Like Space Shuttle loud! Anyway, they finally got it running in the afternoon and out on the track. I was watching and it was SLOW, like REAL SLOW. Everyone was passing it. I saw it back in the pits later on. All the wheels were off and the "crew" was AWOL. Some guy was standing next to the car and I asked him what happened. He said they ran out of brakes. I took a peek at the calipers and rotors and he was partially right...it never had and pads in it to start with....LOL. There were a lot of curly aluminum shavings from the pistons where they made contact with the rotors. Lesson learned, even an Indycar isn't very fast without brake pads.
