Default Getting funny looks daily driving my 996 w/kid and groceries?

So yesterday we went to Target (I do most of our shopping, and my daughter joins me after preschool to help me shop). We bought quite a large number of things including toilet paper and paper towels and lots of other stuff. People looked at me quite incredulously when I stuffed it all into the frunk and passenger front seat and her in the back, and drove off. Why? Never seen a daily driven 996 before? It's weird that people have so many strange assumptions about these cars and their drivers.

Do this all the time and get similar looks. Nothing like going to Costco and jamming the car full of paper products.

The other funny thing is how people think I must have just dropped $100k on this thing. LOL - I paid less for this than you paid for your Camry. Hilarious.

I love watching people's reaction when my boys get out from the back seats.

My elderly parents live a few doors down from me and I take my mom grocery shopping to the nearby Safeway. Since she needs watching as she walks (she really should have a wheelchair but refuses to use one instead prefers to use a walker) I ask for help getting her purchases to the car.

It is kind of funny to watch the uninitiated walk to the rear of the car.

Sure, I try to warn them beforehand to save them steps but sometimes mom has my full attention and they are at the back of the car before I know it.

When I open the front trunk they want to know where the engine is. In the back where it belongs of course.

I'd love to take the Boxster with its two trunks when we go shopping but mom simply can't get in and out of the car. It is too low.

RDU, everyone knows the 996 cant be used as a DD, thats why.

But you are OK because of that other "cargo" you have in the the trunk, your engine wont blow up. Im referring to that quart of JG DT40 of course.

I get the same looks when shopping for groceries, Home Depot etc... and either stuff the passenger seat or pop the frunk.

However, the funniest look I got was last weekend was meeting a few friends at the shooting range and pull up to parking lot and pull out 2 AR's and 2 handguns in their respective bags plus ammo and range bag all in passengers seat, LOL.

My buddies and I do some clay target shooting and I'd love nothing more than to pull out my shotgun from the frunk.

Seriously, what is the deal with the DT40? I know it has the added zinc and Jake recommends it...but are you serious or joking when you mention it so often? Trying to get to know you better

Wait until you get asked if you need a tow when you're just opening your frunk to put groceries in there...

Oil is personal just like the choice of underwear the way I see it. Other's(KK) disagree. I'd rather not open up a can of worms or beat an already beaten dead horse.

Let's just say if Jake designed and built my butt, I'd be inclined to listen to his recommendations of thongs over briefs or boxers however I don't think one should be shoved down other's throats.

Well, since you brought it up. All members here really appreciate an oil thread as they are so informative about the "must use" oil for the M96.01,03 M96.04 engines. Proceed with caution.

That was the funniest, and most disturbing analogy of the year.
