Question Paint for marking on door?

So I parked the car at a super market and the idiot parked next to me opened his door so a bit of the paint (smaller than half the size of the head of a match) kind of got "scraped" off of my door. Its not easily noticable and the door is not dented BUT I know it's there and it bugs me endlessly...

So how do I know exact what colour my car is and can one get hold of somekind of "nailpolish" type paint to cover it? The car was advertised as being Anthrasite Grey (don't know if that's an offical Porsche colour or even a colour in English - in French/German I guess it must be)...

Any pointers on what to do and/or where I could get a product to fix it would be great.

Cheerio,

There is a sticker with the paint colour code inside the front trunk under the mat, Right hand side facing the car beside the front headlight. Touchup paint available at any Porsche stealership. There is also a sticker under the front hood but this one is papermade and sometimes too faded to read anything off it...

This happened recently on my Jaguar sedan and I got it repaired perfectly. Someone must have opened their left rear door so hard that it left a one inch scratch and an indentation on my right rear door. I took it to a detailing shop nearby and gave them some matching touchup paint to use. They had a dentless paint removal specialist smooth out the indentation perfectly, and then used the touch up paint and wet sanded over it. No matter how closely you look, you can't tell it from brand new. Very nicely done.

I have had good success with dr. colorchip. Exact match of the paint, and it smooths right over the mark.

Thanks,

Daniel

Porsche dealers sell a repair kit that includes the clear coat. It's a 2 bottle (smallish) deal for touch ups.
Pick your color and they'll have it.

paintscratch.com. Find your year and they list all the factory colors.

If there is no dent and the paint scratch has a whitish look to it you can probably polish it out which would be better than touch up paint, pick up some mild polish or take it to a detailer or body shop first before you do any home paint repair, that said the stuff from Dr colorchip does work fairly well.

Yes, this is exactly what I have... Only problem is that I'm not sure I have the most basic skills to polish anything up (or down) unless it involves non abrasive products. Is there something specific one can do?

I have seen infomercials on the telly with products to cover up these kind of markings, but tbh I'm not sure if I trust these non official colours to do the job "properly" if it makes sense.

There is a Porsche dealer in Bern (the one in Switzerland that is ) I'll try out and see if they have the "real" kits and take it from there, unless the polish up is childs play.

Thanks again all for your amazing input. Highly appreciated as always

If you give them the paint code listed on your options sticker under your hood, they will send you the exacft paint. I can't speak for all colors, but the Dr. Colorchip was an exact match with my Ocean Metallic Blue.

Cheers,

DS

It is very easy to polish out your paint yourself, look it up on the web and you will find a lot of info on doing this yourself, or try to find a detailer in your area if you don't feel up to doing this on your own. Here are a couple of sites I found http://www.surfcitygarage.com/detail...product_id=204 and http://www.autogeek.net/ they sell products. but there are lots of others who have similar stuff.
P.S. The Dealer should be your last resort, way too expensive
