Best and worst mods you have tried
For me it has been 3 months since I last drove my car and with the weather at -10 today there is no hope of driving in the very near future.
So I am getting bad 911 withdrawal symptoms, and have been doing anything to work on the car whilst I am waiting, and this brings me on to mods, so how about detailing what mods you have done, what have been the best and the worst and what are you planning in the future.
For me current mods on my 40th:
Victor Innsbruck black wheels - I think they are worth it for the look, can’t tell any performance difference but they were a little lighter.
Smoked side lights
Gillette shaving cap in airbox - by far the best sound mod for the $
Went to a Schnell intake from above - I cant tell any difference from the shaving cap in terms of sound and no perceivable performance enhancement, the only thing lighter is my wallet. Thinking of going back to the std airbox and cap as I don’t really like the gaudy orange hose. Waste of money.
Muffler PSE bypass – great sound, no droning and only $200 at a local muffler shop.
Mods I’m currently doing for spring:
Red powdercoated calipers rebuild and new seals
New turbo motor mounts, see how they go and maybe make my own semi solids in the summer and try those
Hardwiring a Ipod jack from Becker to the CDR23
Mods for the future:
997 shifter, I think mine is ok, don’t want a super short one some maybe the 997 is the best compromise
Maybe suspension, maybe a cat bypass…….$$$$$, maybe trade it for a 996TT

The best for me have been the Fister sport mufflers and the new sound system. I'm also quite fond of the heated seats and the homelink rearview mirror that I added.
As for "worst" mods, I can't think of one yet. I suppose the worst one would be the replacement of my "parking lights" inside the headlight assembly with LED lights. They don't look bad, but they don't look as good as I thought. I'm thinking of going back to regular bulbs.

the "worst mod" I had on my 40th was made by the PO... which was a = PORSCHE = Decal on the doors. He had also added Carbon fiber to the mirrors. Both of these were removed.
There was also a K&N intake. It sounded GREAT, but I think it didn't do much other than make me clean the MAF, incessantly, then replace it with the stock OEM unit.
So in a sense, all of my MODs have been to return to stock.

My favorite additions to my car have been the coilovers and wheels. The ride height adjustment and wheels made into a totally different car.
Most of my mods have been pretty well planned and thought out, but the one thing I wasn't super happy with was the muffler bypass pipes. They sounded incredible, but the drone was mind-numbing.

Best: LN 3.8 rebore with nikasil plating and forged pistons. The car absolutley rips.... 300 TQ. / 330 HP to rear wheels.
H&R coilovers were a great upgrade as well. Corner speed and grip have improved dramatically with the lowered ride height, corner balance and aggressive alignment.
Worst: Tequip roll bar. The bar will not allow a tall driver to push seat back or recline. What a waste of time and money. Going to buy the new GMG bar instead.

Some good information here already...First I'll give my list and then ask some questions:
Best: EVOMS intake-nice sound, small performance improvement after 4k rpm
Best/Worst: KW coilovers. Awesome on the track, but brutal on terrible Boston streets
Questions:
Hardback, was the 3.8 rebore in the $18k range I see quoted occasionally?
Ivan, are the Euro GT3 seats comfortable enough for a daily driver?
