Best and worst mods you have tried

Three Wheelin'
best mods:
PSS9 and H&R sway bars - best mod by far.
RS motor mounts - minimal vibration issues - great throttle response.
Centre console delete - all the room i need now.;
GBox 2nd gear detent - finally feels like the gear is landing properly.
worst mods:
B&M SSK - couldn't wait to get rid of it. Back to stock for now.
Clutch helper spring removal - actually the spring broke but I left it for a while and the action was horrible.
Cheap and cheerful mods (no performance diff but cost was next to nil):
GT3 brake cooling ducts - I got these for $10 somewhere.
orange cap mod - free
de-badge rear lid - free - the anti hurdigurdi look
Great mod that came with a downside:
AASCO lightweight flywheel - SACHS sport clutch and spring centred clutch disc.
The clutch action is light and intuitive - the throttle response is immediate - the drivetrain as tractable as ever....but my gearbox rattles and gnashes constantly. I like everything about it except the noise.

Best: LN 3.8 rebore with nikasil plating and forged pistons. The car absolutley rips.... 300 TQ. / 330 HP to rear wheels. H&R coilovers were a great upgrade as well. Corner speed and grip have improved dramatically with the lowered ride height, corner balance and aggressive alignment. Worst: Tequip roll bar. The bar will not allow a tall driver to push seat back or recline. What a waste of time and money. Going to buy the new GMG bar instead.
Thanks!

This was a fun thread to re-read. Each rebuild is different depending on builder and customer's goals/budget. My experience was enjoyable once we came up with a plan and I got over the expense part. I had many discussions with my indy prior to sending the cases to LN Engineering. I negotiated labor hours and part costs but in order to receive a warranty on the completed rebuild I bought all parts through my mechanic. If you want some more details on the build send me a PM and I'll forward an abbreviated part list and extras "while we were in there" list. The engine has 26,000 miles on it now and I'm very pleased with bump in power/torque.

Poly Engine Mounts
997 SSK
Aftermarket Lumbar Support Retrofit
Out of all my mods, these were the ones that were noticeable 100% of the time in every driving situation, environment, and the most practical and enjoyable in a daily driver setting.
Of course my CO's, Tires, Wheels, and engine mods help the driving "excitement" but not necessarily adds a dramatic impact to the "experience" on a daily basis.

Randy...looks like the laser aligner you used for the "crest to valve stem" was out of calibration! (See "Good day on the 996 forum") thread.....BTW my RR is out, too

OR
You can roll up a small hand towel and stuf it back there but it won't have the easy adjustments of an inflatable. I've done both before.

Best mods were the T96 steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and shirt shift kit. Worst mod thinking I should actually keep the 4-post "trans-am" steering wheel for the future.

The underdrive pulley isn't a massive - or even BIG difference - but when compared to other mods solely by price, the pulley and the shims were by far the best money I spent.
