new to us carrera
hello
We have just bought our first carrera it is a 2000 black cabriolet, 6 speed manual. with 60k miles. It drives really nice has no leaks at all, and seems to run very smooth, previous owner had put a K&n cold air kit on it that I will replace with a closed box asap, but that seems to be the only mod to it, one thing I would like to ask is, I wonder if anyone here has added a electric hood release to one of these cars, my wife will be driving it to work and back often and it would be a nice mod as she will be in and out of the hood everyday she drives it to take her computer bag with.
thanks!
the one pic is the night we bought it, it was after dark so the pic is not good, the rest are the dealer photos

thanks, I'll dig until I find yes or no to a retrofit, I know this car has a newer fob and when you push the button for the truck (oops hood,g>) release it lights the red alarm light on the dash, so maybe I can find one and it is possible to do it, maybe not, but it would be neat, plus we have to make it "ours" that would be a good start <g>
ill try to add a pic, we only have one at night and then ones from the dealership we bought it at, we did buy this one at a Porsche Dealer

get rid of te K and N. Its made to race, not to drive daily and doesnt not filter as well as the stock unit.
People all the time get confused and think "well the use it on race cars, must be better than stock" Um no... sadly many items ment for the track can be out right dangerouse for road use.
Second Item to stay away from on the road is Stainless braided Brake lines.

Car looks really good and welcome to the club. If you mention your wife then you have to post a picture of her.

They printed out the build sheet for us, the car sold new at a local ATL dealer
wheels were code xrb 18"sport classic ordered with the car, along with 446 wheel caps with colored crest, now am I sure they are the correct xrb wheels and 446 covers? no, I'm not, but they are on the build sheet, where can I find out for sure? that would be nice to know for sure.
it also came with this list ordered
savanna beige full leather int
Porsche stability management
hi-fi sound pkg w/speakers
Porsche windstop defelctor (which I have but a hinge is broken)
am/fm radio with cd player (which all works but has a whine to it)
delete cabriolet hardtop
supple leather front and rear
savvana beige flor mats
power seat package
headlight washers
xenon headlights
we just got the car back tonight, I had the front of the car wrapped in the clear protective film by the dealership, yes there were a couple very small marks on it we put the wrap over, but I want to keep it as nice as possible.
