Default UView 550000

Hello, I am going to install a new water pump in my 996 this winter and I am planning on purchasing the UView 550000 to ensure there are no air pockets in the system once I change the pump. Is it essential that all of the coolant needs to be drained to use this? Also does the thermostat need to be removed when using this system? Thanks!

No, you don't need to remove all of the coolant to use the system, nor does the thermostat need to be removed.

+1 to shawn's post.

That being said, the more coolant you can get out, the more effective it will be. However, it is extremely difficult to get all 6+ gallons of coolant out without removing the front radiators and blowing out the lines.

DO turn on your heater while bleeding.

It helps to get the coolant fill "bucket" above the level of the car while filling, and also tilt the front end of car down, have the butt sticking up.

Other than that follow the directions with the 55500000000 unit and you'll be fine.

Sounds good, so just turn the ignition on and the heater without the car running? Sounds simple enough to me... Thank you gentleman.

Yes. That will open the mixture flap and allow the heater core to be bled and filled.
