It happens here in the states also....I took it to 2 chain tire places...bigO? and tire 'something'. It's been a couple years. I told them 295/30/18 they say $50 each for mount/balance. They ask what kinda car is it for. I tell them Porsche. Both places state "we can't do them. they use this special metal and our machine will crush the rims". I laughed and walked out.

I found quite a few chain stores lack the proper updated balancing machines to balance wide wheels like our rear wheels. Some try to do it the best they can and not tell you and hope you don't come back.

Porsche conspiracy theory number 789: they have men employed to visit all tyre fitters worldwide to inform them that Porsche alloy wheels will spontaneously combust if they dare attempt to fit tyres to them. This increases OPC annual servicing revenue by 0.5%/year.
