Default Value of 3.4 engine with cracked cylinder??

I have a perfect running 1999 3.4 engine from my porsche with a cracked liner(needs a new set of cases).

What is the value on a motor to sell outright like this? Its a good motor, just needs a block though.

Anyways, what would be a good starting price for something like this and are there places that buy engines like this I should contact?

Thanks

Cast aluminum currently fetches about $40 a pound at a recycling yard.

I figure a turn key 3.4 is worth at least $45 in the right market, even with a cracked liner.

We buy broken cores but have a good supply of them.. They don't fetch much, especially with a terminal crankcase condition.

Some "Rebuilders" give more for cores because they use more of the engine internals than we do.. We throw about 90 pounds of internals away out of every engine.

Give me an offer, it has 60k on it... or do you have a good block from a rod knock motor laying around youd sell me?

Id like to just swap internals to a new block and toss it back into the car.

A good early 3.4 block really doesn't exist.. All the ones we have are just like all the rest, oval bores with a ton of taper in them that'll never seal a ring package back up again.

I have probably experienced two blocks that were worth swapping internals into over the past 5 years, but the longevity of such an expenditure of time wouldn't be worth the effort.

Email me us dean@rabyenginedevelopment.com and we can make you an offer for it.

Simple question, I have a 2001 3.4, does it qualify to be a "better" 3.4 ?

I thought it was the other way around. Btw, I'm double row 2001 if that changes anything. Wandering what Jake has to say

IIRC, '01s had the most amount of cylinder head issues out of the mk1 series.

I think Jake was referring to the condition of the block when he gets it.
