Welcome to the 996 world. Leave it like it is Zenski. Spend your money on gas and drive the hell out of it . If you got over a ton in 3rd then you cranked it up. 6th gear no way was it cranked. I have same year same color scheme. There were tons of those imported from Stuttgart. Artic Silver on black being the most common. Same milage as yours 45000miles. I got the hard top as well. Just took it off last week for the summer. Mine is a DD and I have done 10000 since last april. If you want a mod. Get a radar detector you will need it haha. vrrrum vrrrrrrrum

I thought these babies went a lot faster than 110!!!
The hard top is off and I have driven it to work the last two days. We just need the temps to stay warm here in Wisconsin. I have a radar detector, but I need to do the fix on the lighter to make it work.

Congrats Zenski! Great looking 996, and with the hard top too . Will come in handy for those Wisconsin winters.

I may be coming to Milwaukee in April for a work related trip. If I bring my 996, I'll shoot you a PM.

Enjoy.

Welcome, if the urge overtakes you, it is OK to grab a lawn chair and just sit and stare at it, I hope.

Default More Pics

With the first weekend of ownership, I was able to get a good wash and wax.
Here are a few more pics and the hard top is off and in storage.

Of course it was the stereo volume. We all observe posted speed limits. Who in their right minds would admit to speeding on a public forum?

My mistake, it was the radio and not my speed. A simple mistake

Looks nice. I don't see many other 911's in Wisconsin.

Hell Zenk that 110mph was in 3 gear for Gods sake. I took it to 150mph one day but only for about a mile. Steady as a rock.. BTW I was in 6th gear then not 3rd anymore. The thing is, I know it will do 175mph from what was left under my foot at 150. No need to prove anything more to myself now. Got myself one hell of a machine here. or as the young ones says. It totally rocks dude haha forgot to say to CHSU 74 that I am not in my right mind..... admitting this on a public forum..I was on the track that day.

Oh I have a tom tom, and a radar. I bought a lighter splitter which you plug into the one lighter on the dash. The newer plug solved the loose fit lighter problem. The other end has two lighters plus 2 USB sockets in a black plastic box type thing which fits nice and snug in the open space in front of the gear stick under the radio and spare cd holder. Now as I plug the device into the dash lighter, both the Tom Tom and the radar kick in. The radar I have low in the center of the front windscreen. When I unplug I pull out the plug from the dash lighter and all both shut down normally. No switching on or off. Simply plug in and out. My Tom TOm sticks on the glass of the central digital speedo and rev counter dial right in front of me through the steering wheel. I can tell my speed from the left hand dial and also the tom tom. I judge my revs from the sound of the engine but can just see the top off the rev counter from 2000 to 5000 which is all I need to know. By raising the bottom of the tom tom slightly I can see any warning light that might come on. If I want to take them with me when I park I can remove both within 10 seconds. It depends on where I leave the car. I love the radar. It has warned me on a few occassions and maybe saved my bacon. I never thought I would ever use a radar, but then again I never thought I would have a racing car under my ****. hahaha. dude
