Was there a difference between the 996 turbo sport seats and the 996 gt3 sport seats. I know the 996 turbo sport seats backs are plastic, but is there any difference between the gt3 ones.

no both are Soft Touch Plastic... Leather or Painted backs was an Option.

OP should clarify if he means US gt3 sports seats.

This is often what is referred to as "Euro" GT3 seats since they did not come in any US GT3 cars, although they could be fitted with them afterwards.

Alpine - I know those Euro seats, but those are not what I am referring to in this discussion. I wanted to know if there were any difference between the 996 Hardback Sport Seats and the 996 GT3 Hardback Sport Seats. Again Zookie, thanks for the answer.

I'm glad you found your answer. I was just slightly confused by your post hence the reason why I brought up the euro reference. I'm not sure why you would think one would be fiberglass backed in the regular reclining style seats. :confused:

Alpine - I remember a post where someone mentioned that his seats were fiberblass backed and not plastic, from a 2004 GT3. Doesn't matter, thanks for the help guys.

Orginal Porsche "Euro" GT3 Seats are Fiberglass Backs. They never came in Carbon Fiber from Factory only Aftermarket.

Many many many people are miss informed about what actully 996 GT3 seats are... Many think US GT3 Seats are "Special"... when they are just Regular 996/986 Sport Seats :thumbup:

996 GT3 Sportsseats were delivered also in Carbonfibre ex. factory!

My 996 GT3 Clubsport 2001 was delivered with the option and text in German on the list:
XSR Schalensitz rechts, Rückseite Carbon
XSS Schalensitz links, Rückseite Carbon.
