Im looking to by a car with CPO until July, can I have an independent service the car and retain the warranty?, or does the ongoing service have to be done by an authorized dealer?

I think you're OK if you have records for oil changes, etc. Not sure, though. I've always had my warranty work done at the dealer to avoid any BS.
My BIL was called out on missing one oil change on his Subi. He went to a local guy that faked a receipt for the oil change so he didn't pay for a new engine.

Three Wheelin'
I found the dealer to be very happy to do CPO work.
Apparently they get paid top$$ to do it from Porsche.
Others reported here that they had their Indy find a problem and the dealer then fixed it under warranty.
I'm talking about Porsche Certified Pre Owned not a warranty policy from a dealer.

Thanks guys I was taking a belts and braces approach, the car is having a PPI tomorrow I'll see what they come up with and book it in to a dealer for a service and have any work done
