2/4...really?
Those crazy Germans and their engineering. Just a worthless post and dumb observation but anyone ever notice the 2/4 on their gas gauge?
I just find it funny and haven't really noticed it til recently. I can't recall off the top of my head whether other car manufacturers have this or not. I think ROM(rest of the manufacturers) is 1/2. lol

I think it makes perfect sense. It stays consistent by telling you the number of sections on that gauge and where you are on but then again I am not that smart so...
Why wouldn't you also say that having 4/4 on full tank is silly? It should be "1" at full tank then "1/2" at half tank.

I'm aware of the general concept however I think that effect varies by different cars. I've been driving on quarter tank for the past 20 years with no pump failure so far with some cars seeing 150k. I'll take my chances.
