Space or Graphite Gray?
I'm looking to buy a steering wheel for my car, it has a graphite gray interior. Do these photos look graphite or space gray to you guys? I am having a hard time telling. Thanks.

I am not too concerned with the actual rim as I was planning on having that recovered. I just want to be sure the body of the wheel matches the horn pad. Thanks for the reply!

Sue, could you elaborate on that technique? what sandpaper? wet or dry? where does one get leatherique? my steering wheel is looking tired. i clean and condition, but the color is fading out. i guess it would work as well on the shift ****... thanks.

It's very much a wet sanding process. Here's a home brewed technique (from the early911registry) that I'd like to try out on my Sonett this winter since the steering wheel is starting to show its age:

Alternatively, Leatherique (www.leatherique.com) is a stand alone process. You can pick up the stuff through their website, eBay or a host of online vendors.
Along the same lines as gene, I use Lexol and Griots for leather cleaner but some leather is beyond simple cleaning and conditioning. I'm not sure how you'd get all of that brown out of the grey with a Zaino, Lexol or Griot's-type of cleaner. From the pictures it appears to be too badly stained for simple cleaning. Maybe not - it's certainly worth a try before you take things to the next step. At some point, however, the topmost layer of leather is just beyond simple cleaning and needs rejuvenation and repair.
