Mine was a 30th anniversary present from Mrs SSST. One of her friends asked her if I was having an affair.
Other than that, it attracts attention from guys about 10:1 over girls.
We have a number of mature gentlemen like myself in the neighborhood with an appropriate number of SL500s, SC430s, and corvettes. Only one other 911 and its a NA coupe.
Needless to say, I'm the top dog of the old farts now. LOL!

My brother in law said it best. He said that the porsche club gets together for a drive and then has a dinner and wine at the local German restaurant. The vette club meets at a vacant parking lot, has kegs of beer and wet T-shirt contests....

It does make a great ice breaker with women ..and men. But all that other stuff is BS. Sex is always an element in any major purchase. That we want the best says something about us and it isn't "hey baby you waana ride in my porschee?"

Journalists are like drivers: some are very stupid.
@Dennis: Kudos for your 21th W.A.
I'm on our 34th W.A. ..and driving 911's daily since 27 years !
(..and it seems that our mutual wifes are driving the same model too ! )
In the French language, we call the loyal P drivers "porschistes", it qualifies a loyalty to the brand for the drivers that are using their P cars (since long time) and this, what ever the weather is, i.e.: rain*, snow, wind or blue sky and whatever the destination is, i.e.: work, grocery, golf, etc..
The ones that use P car as "ramasse minettes" (to pick up chicks), do not qualify for this name, and frankly, I think, the chicks that are looking for $ first probably understood that the "Porschistes" are not a juicy target.
To me, this journalist understood simply nothing about "porschistes", i.e.: most probably he should have a Q.I in the range of regular room temp.
* When it rains, I still gripe (since years) against the lack of rain gutter on my 996 C4 cab, but hopefuly, ..it is rare in California !
