Default Steering Wheel Trim Inserts?????

I recently just picked up a 2001 C4 with aero kit. The carbon fiber on the steering wheel inserts are kind of cracking and causing sharp edges. Can those be replaced or do I need to get a whole new steering wheel?

What color is your steering wheel? I have a gray 3 spoke that I just swapped out. It would be a good custom wrap project with alcantara wrap or new leather wrap.

You can have my old one for $120 shipped. It is the top one in the picture. Dallas customs does a really good job wrapping steering wheels. It takes about 15 minutes to swap a steering wheel.

Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery.
(2) #30 Torx screws on the back side of the steering wheel for the horn.
unplug 2 wires
15/16 socket to remove nut holding the steering wheel in place. Make sure you mark the position of the steering wheel. There is a center mark on these.

Its going to be posted for sale in the for sale section soon. These 3 spoke wheels without airbag are asking for $200+. If it doesn't sell by next month, we can be in touch but I suspect a 993 owner will take this quickly. Thanks for your interest.

Alright well keep me informed. I just spent everything I had to get the car, so right now I'm on a budget.

Back to the original question though, are those inserts replaceable? I have some on mine and I noticed they have slight cracks on them too.

^ quick search shows that steering wheel needs to be replaced. Aftermarket pieces don't fit well.

Steering wheel is SOLD!

Y'know, your picture of the steering wheel just got me thinking.

My '99 996 doesn't have a steering wheel airbag?

SWEET!

My day just got a lot happier.

Cheers,
